Week 59

Hey all!

This week was pretty rad.  We worked hard and had some fun too.

I'm writing on Tuesday because we are going to have zone conference on Wednesday.  We just kinda chilled today.  We were going to go to Pesaro to hang with the rest of the zone but we decided we weren't about that life and
just stayed here instead, got anziano Ward a much needed backpack, ate a piadina, and now we are in the church painting.  Yeah that's right,  PAINTING.  It's a new hobby that we decided to take up together.  It's pretty fun and I discovered that I'm pretty heckin good at it!  Well to be fair I haven't actually painted yet.  Just sketched.  But I'm pretty heckin good at it!  I'm drawing Anziano Ward, and so far I've spent like an hour on his upper lip.  I'm gonna give it to him for Christmas and say, "There's more where that came from if you go to prom with me..."

Anyways what happened this week ummmmmm... C.. and R... were baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday which was all that was left of the Ye.. family.  It was really really cool.  I felt a lot of love for both of them in that moment.  Alex was sooo happy that his family was able to be reunited with him and baptized.  Now they just need to go to the temple!  I'm really happy for them.

We have had a lot of success thanks to God recently but we are not done quite yet.  There are still a lot of other people who need the blessings that come from baptism with the proper authority.  So we are gonna continue to work hard.

Also President basically told me that I would be staying here another transfer so It looks like I will be here for Christmas!!  Otherwise they would transfer me literally right before Christmas and I would have to spend it with a companion and members that I don't know which would suck.  But this is better!

How is everything going at home?  I really miss you guys.  I saw a nativity set in this store Maham so... just sayin'.  If you wanna me to get it I maybe can.

Anyways tell the grills to get in the back seat because "girls in the back, ga ga girls in the back!"

I love you all!
Ciao

  1. Ciao Anziano Tagg,
-Cena presso BJ's rstaurant (it's a chain...do you know it or not?)
    - Here the weather is mostly sunny. Usully mild during the day and cold but not too much in the evening.
I've written also something in Italian so you can practise and improve it.
Have a good stay in Italy! Bye-bye

  3. Ciao Anziano Tagg,
That's Marianna again. Spero vada tutto bene a Bressanone e che non sia ne troppo freddo e ne troppo innevato.
With the light of the sun we headed to San Diego and we visited the Seaport village where you can shop & dine along the harbor and then it was the time for the San Diego Old Town State Park where you can see buildings, stores, restaurants and a few museums dated back to the history of the town like the mexican period and the colonial/western one.
When the sun went down we drove to Rancho Penasquitos not far from San Diego where we saw some houses from outside decorated for Christmas....so many lights and different decorations. There where also some people who lives in those houses selling hot drinks, pop corn and sweets.
    Saluti dalla California....ciaooooo! Stammi bene!
Come vedi un po' d'italiano c'è sempre.

  4. Ciao Anziano Tagg,
this morning we started packing our suitcases..tomorrow we are leaving. Dovremo svegliarci al canto del gallo (rooster)...it's an Italian expression that means weak up very early. The flight is at 3:30 pm but we have to reach Los Angeles airport and we need about 2h30 plus the possibility of traffic and all the time inside the airport.
About today: we had lunch in our timeshare and then we went out and visited a luxury hotel...the main reason was to see the outside space (called winter wonderland) full of attractions such as ice skating rink, panoramic wheel and carousel. The hall of the hotel was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree and a gingerbread house. After a while a violinist started to play. I still remember how nice was listening to you playing it but it also remembered me of another missionary who played it while he served in Ravenna (now he is studying in Utah).
Then we stopped in some shops and then we ended the day by having a stroll and dinner in a mall in Escondido....I think you have seen the pictures because we went twice there. There was also Father Christmas. It's nice to see places and towns decorated for Xmas.
As you have noticed we are not so used to wear so many Christmas things or to decorate so much....we are a bit sober...but anyhow it's nice that people feel free and comfortable to do that.
Buon Natale e sereno anno nuovo.
